Research project
Hilal is working with Dr Allan Jones and Prof. Ian Curthoys from the Department of Psychology at the University of Sydney on "Visualizing the vestibular and cochlear receptor structures of the inner ear". The focus of this project is to study the biological and anatomical nature of the otolithic organs, the utricular and saccular maculae in relation to skull landmarks, leading to the probing of their functional status. To achieve this, Hilal is utilizing different staining procedures and x-ray microtomographic imaging.
